Creative + Strategy + Media

There is an author named Susan Sontag who wrote that to be a good writer (and I would argue, a great anything), you need to be four people: The Nut, The Moron, The Stylist and The Critic.

“A great writer has all four. But you can still be a good writer with only one and two — they’re the most important”

I try every day to at least be a nut and a moron.

Cry Pie DiGiorno

Every March, the college basketball tournament brings plenty of cheers, but also delivers heartbreaking losses that can bring superfans to tears

To ensure DiGiorno was ready with an assist, we created the first-ever DiGiorno Cry Pie – an all-onion pizza that can also be used as an emotional crust (err, crutch). Whether your team misses a buzzer-beater or ends up on the wrong size of an upset, you could now blame your tears on the onion-covered Cry Pie.

Handcrafted by the empathetic pizza-makers at DiGiorno, Cry Pies featured the brand’s Classic Thin Crust, mozzarella cheese, a creamy alfredo-style sauce and triple-onion toppings — caramelized yellow, aromatic red and crispy green — for a delicious, tear-worthy taste that could make a grown fan cry.

We intersected heartbreak conversations across the internet and captured hearts, minds and stomachs alike with this slam dunk campaign.
